Idea from Ryan Hitchings (via Facebook) (ASIO Mixer)
"You guys ever thought of an ASIO supported Mixer (like the C3USB except with usb ASIO support instead of the two usb audio codec lines) with a DMC2 attached along the bottom. The idea being is you have a multiple channel mixer with a Midi controller and sound card built in? All rack-mountable. Sort of a Computer DJ all in one. Any thoughts on this from other DJ's?" I would buy one of these units for each of my mixer racks...I would really love to see these come to life...and I trust Numark is the best company for that. A simple setup that includes Mixers, Midi Controller, and ASIO Soundcard all in one. One mic port, Three RCA Capable channels, Two Midi Sliders (for controlling software channels) and a DMC2 Style setup at the bottom of the mixer...all in one. Honestly what do you Numark guys think about something like that?

Looks really cool. Lets see how many people we can get to +1 this and have the company see it.

Thanks for the suggestion I will pass it on :)

I was just thinking of the same thing. My addition would be (though it may not be possible), to add control of a standard numark cd/mp3 player as well, and make it possible to switch between computer or deck control. Some of us still like/need to have traditional cd capability as well, but don't want to have 2 sets of deck controls for pc/cd.

oh one other suggestion then would also be, instead of having a 3 position flip switch for line/usb/etc, have a rotary knob on 3 channels for selecting input, so you could have either line/usb1/usb2/usb3 on the 3 channels. Your USB to computer connection could utilize the hardware from the virtual vinyl to establish your 3 usb lines from the computer.

Correct Me if I'm wrong,But doesn't the Mixdeck have those Features stock?
-

Correct DJ Bill....Correct me if I'm wrong...but aren't alot of feature sets available on the Mixdeck that are available on the NS7? Aren't alot of feature sets available on alot of other products. This is a unit designed for the non turntable dj. An all in one rackmount midi controller with built in ports for other inputs such as wireless microphones and cd players. We're looking for support here not criticism...so it doesn't fit you...then move on. There are MANY other people out there who would agree with me on this!

yep, if the mixdeck already has that feature set, then it should be easy for them to port it to make this application.

I'm just stating a point,I think your Idea is A Great one,Please don't mistake what I said as criticism.I am all for Technology that will make Loading,Setting Up and Taring Down A Breeze. My back Thanks The Digital Creation...

I am starting to see the Big Picture here,I would really like for Numark to consider A Controller like this being Added to The Numark Arsenal of Controllers. I think it is just A matter of time before another Major DJ Manufacture building this in the very near future. What are the chances of Numark Making A Mock up of this, like they did with The MPC-DJ? Just My thoughts.

I ended up going with the Denon DN-HC5000, because Numark didn't have anything to match it. It gave pretty close to what we were looking for, with the ability to control either cd or pc independently on either deck, with only 2 outputs from the head unit, making it simple to hook into a traditional mixer.
I'm still a big Numark fan, and would be nice to see them add something similar to their product lineup. But for what I needed/liked, it fit the bill perfectly. -
