I am trying to install and set up but system keeps timing out when I connect DJ via USB.
I am using a Dell I6400 with Windows XP 2002 SP3, 32 Bit, Intel CPU 1.66GHz
Installed drivers as instructed. After drivers system asks to be connected via USB and then times out. -

http://www.numark.com/idj3a (neccesary drivers found here)
Make sure that the device is being recognized as a USB port before trying to run the update. If you are not sure your device is correctly recognized or to check for errors look in your control panel through your system preferences. There you will find your device manager and a (audio, video, game controller list). Make sure that the IDJ3 is showing up on this usb list when you plug it in. The list will refresh showing you a new item. If your list does not refresh then try another usb port. There may be USB conflict we need to solve before the update can be considered so make sure there are no error messages attached to the new device. -

I am having somewhat the same problem. All the lights are lit up like it's working, but whenever I launch a mixing program, Virtual DJ, or Traktor, It says there's no external device connected.
The computer recognizes the device, but it says there are no drivers for it. I saw your post above with the drivers, J Sandeen, But it appears that it goes to a 404.
All help is appreciated, I'd like to get started. :)- view 3 more comments

For anyone needing help getting iDJ3 to work on their computer and are running into troubles I have a solution. Please e-mail me personally if you are in need of assistance. Include what the current state is when plugging in the device to the computer (what lights come on), what operating system you use and what program you're trying to get it to run with. I have only only verified my cure by using Virtual DJ PRO, and Windows 7. My cure will NOT work on Windows XP, I have tested it with both XP and 7, I have not tested it with Windows Vista or MAC. If you can at least borrow a PC with Windows 7 on it to get it SET UP, afterwords it WILL work on Windows XP with Virtual DJ PRO.

J Sandeen,
I downloaded the drivers you had links for on this page. When I went to install everything was fine then I got the message, "Unfortunately the installation failed. (Error: timeout - 0x0005)" I have tried several times. Same message.
My IDJ3 still doesn't work. Now what? -
