PC: Acer Aspire Model 8943G
Windows 7(64 Bit) Professional
Processor: i3 380M Quad 2.53 Ghz
RAM: 8gb
HD: 500 gb (internal)
Numark Driver 2.9.13
Itch 2.0 20098
Controller:NS7FX
The issue that I am having is, when the NS7FX is playing a song, I will hear a small burst of static. Once that happens, the NS7F is no longer calibrated. If I stop the platter with my hand, there is about a 1-2 second delay to when the music actually stops. The NS7FX will eventually go back to being normal, then the static happens again and the 1-2 second delay returns, again. No specific timing between the static and the unit returning to normal. I have itch 2.0 installed 2 other PC's. One XP machine and one Windows 7(32 Bit). I do not get the static or delay on the other PC's. Both are 32 Bit.
I have narrowed the issue down. I also us VDJ(sorry for that...lol). The same static and delay happens with VDJ, also. Both programs use the Numark 2.9.13 Driver. my usb drivers are up to date. Either I have an issue with my usb drivers or I am having problems with the Numark 2.9.13 driver. I also had the same issues with Itch 1.7, and 2.0 Beta.
Any help would be greatly appreciated....Thanks

1Please call if you are having static/noise. There is no one answer for static as it could be from the audio cable, usb cable, or computer driver issues. We would be happy to talk to you and even look into your computer remotely to see whats going on.

Hello, it looks like you have some sort of conflict on that machine which is interfering with performance. Have you tried updating the Bios?
-
-
Hello, Yes all of me drivers and Bios are up to date per Acer's website. I just upgraded to Itch ersion 2.01 (20102), but that did nothing. Any other suggestions on what my problem could be. I have this nice new PC and can't even use it. Are there any plane on updating the Numark driver 2.9.13??

I actually have a Mixdeck and an iMac running Traktor Pro. The same thing recently started happening to me. I was thinking it had something to do with upgrading to Lion but you are using Windows, a different device & different software but the exact same thing is happening to me. It doesn't necessarily happen at the same time. I power off the Mixdeck, wait a few minutes and then I power it back up again. It works for a while and then happens again. This is really frustrating. How can I safely rely on my equipment when mixing if I never know how, why & when this is going to happen. I recently updated the Mac drivers and I am going to reinstall the firmware update.
Please let me know if anyone has a solution to this. -
-
looks like this problem have started not so long ago? got the same problems like you michael, screwed up a hole gig for me, i have updated all my sound card drivers, tried different versions of itch, recalibrated my ns7 and nohing works!
edit; and my strip search jumps suddenly to the end sometimes -
-
-
-
yes, the only thing that's helping is to turn the ns7 off an on, but the problem come back after a wile.
-
-
I believe there us a problem with the Numark driver 2.9.13 I dosen't appear to have been updated since April 2010. I hooked up a different external card to the same PC and did not get the static. It is very frustration because they keep telling me it's my pc and I know it is not.
-
-
hmm okey, don't know what to do, going to update every driver and bios on the pc soon, will tell here if it help anything
-

Guys, the exact same thing is happening with my Mixdeck on my Mac. Once I shut it down and then power it back up it's gone but it does come back. I tried using Traktor without the Mixdeck and ther was no static or delay at all. I can't imagine it's your PC because there are at least three of us with the exact same problem with different operating systems and controllers.

i got a windows 7 (64-bit) with a I3 quad-core and 6 gig of ram so i don't think it's my computer that can't handle it.
-
i have the same setup i have not even used the gear yet from first power up its all static im getting frustrated
-
-
I had the same problem when i got my new laptop, but its not drivers or hardware issue you need to buy an audio issolator, i brought my from maplins elelctronics http://www.maplin.co.uk/ground-loop-i...
My computer now plays music over my dj systems with cd quality.
Hope this helps you all out.

And I have an iMac with an i5 with all other apps closed. It worked flawlessly for almost a year. It's not the computer.

it's a dell, everything have worked perfectly before, but i restored my computer to factory settings (with dell recovery hdd) and now at my last gig (saturday) everything just f'cked up

@ Robbin, mine worked like this out of the box! NS7 works fine on XP and Windows 7 (32-Bit). I don't understand.
-
-
I agree. I hope someone from Numark is reading this and can comment on it.

updated my bios and so on Monday evening, tested it out today and it' still the same problem, only thing i noticed was that it took longer time before the problem starting to accrue.. and i have discovered that my right treble knob doesn't work

The Numark guy only answered once in this thread. I called the Numark support line but could not get thru. I even sent an email "sbangs" from Numark....No replies from 5 days ago WTF!! I can't even get a reply on Serato's website. I guess I'm on my own. I may have to look at downgrading to windows 7 32 bit and losing 5gb of ram to make this thing work correctly. No way in hell I can do a gig with the controller off beat! SMDH!!!

Please update this post as this problem applies to more than just one of us.

I updated to the newest firmware and reinstalled my drivers. I put down an 80 minute mix yesterday and did not get any static. It was something that wouldn't always happen so I will keep you updated.
-
-
@ djlatin....Thanks I've done all of that and more. Not sure what to do next.
-
-
mixed for alot longer, then let it be for a while when i were with my girlfriend, then when i tried it again it was all shitty again :( don't know what to do anymore

I am having the exact same problem. Its this really loud static, and you can barely hear the music. The only way to get rid of the static is to restart my computer..but then ITCH only works for about 30 mins, and it all start back up again. HELP US NUMARK! I can't even do any shows because of it....
-
-
Another one with the exact same problem and no one from numark are helping a shit, I even sent a mail to their support a couple of days ago with a link to this topic and wrote that it's their own community and they haven't respond yet, starting to consider to sell the ns7 and buy things that WORK and that you get some SUPPORT from, my business stands still and I'm totally helpless

Hello,
To help diangose this issue more effectively please can you run the DPCISRtracing tool? You can then upload your report to this topic or email it to me at sbangs@numark.com
You can find the tool here from Serato.

@ Kevin.....same here. What are your pc specs?
@ Robbin, I managed to get someone on the phone last Monday. They promised to call me back but almost two weeks later and I'm still waiting. I call back again, waited my turn, someone answered the hung up before saying hello. I did not have the time to call back and sit in cue for another 34-45 mins......Can't make any money DJing with faulty equipment/software..so I have to go to wor....lol(see, I can still smile after all of this nonsense. -
-
Sorry for not saying this earlier. I am actually using Max OS X Lion. I don't think this is only a windows problem. Now, I know that Numark has not released a "mac lion" driver, but I am pretty sure (I may be wrong), this all started after I updated the firmware on my ns7.
Did anyone here update their firmware on the system, and then have this problem? I have updated everything to the newest drivers and software updates, and am still having this terrible static noise. It is just a loud, blob of static...but interestingly enough i can still use my plates and everything else to cycle through the song, its just a constant static, whether I push play or not. Music plays only slightly in the background... -
-
Mine has done it from day one with this PC, thru Itch 1.7, 2.0 Beta, 2.0 and 2.01. My static starts off as a popping noise then turns to full blown static withe the music faint in the background
Are you using the i3 processor as well? -
-
I have an intel core 2 duo...I also upgraded to the newest Itch at the same time I did the firmware upgrade. So mine is either one of three problems:
1) The latest serato ITCH could be the problem
2) The latest firmware on my NS7 isn't working properly
3) I am using Lion (Which isn't fully supported supposedly)
I have also removed, and re-installed the sound driver for Max OS X 10.6 (10.7 isn't available yet)
This problem is so weird, and I really hope Numark is listening to us...trying to find a solution! -
-
I'm pretty sure you can rule out numbers 1 & 3. There are people with the exact same problem on Macs & PC's. Also it has been with both Serato and Traktor. This has got to be a Numark issue. I did update and reinstall all of my drivers and firmware last week and so far no issues. But I was also not very active as I was busy with other things. I did get a chance to spin a few times without issues. I'll let you know if it happens again.
-
-
@ djlatin...Thanks for the update. The only thing I get from Serato and Numark is "We've never heard of this problem". Yet, it is being widley discussed in their forums....SMDH!
-
-
@ Kevin...It's weird that I have had this problem with all versions of Itch and this PC. It will play fine for a while, then the static starts real low, then gets louder very quickly. I can remove the usb cable and plug it back in and the static goes away, but comes back each and every time.
-
-
I have just sent 2 logs with information to Numark, one without the noise and one with the noise so they can compare, hope they will find any kind of solution to this problem.
-
-
I had the same issue and after researching I found out that windows 7 64bit driver are beta and do not work good. I switch windows 7 32bit and everything is excellent.
-
-
I have narrowed it down to that it's my computer, think it's my usb that is fucking everything up, tested it on my mothers regular I5 computer laptop and it worked perfect, but I need HELP! I can't just by another pc, I mena numark have to have a solution on this kind of problems, i sent them those diagnose reports that they asked for, but haven't got a reply and it's almost a month ago.
so what should I do? really need help -
-
I had to buy a new PC. I bought a HP with the exact same specifications, which works perfect! Unbelievable! QVC allows you to make payments which allowed me to get a new PC, otherwise I would still be fooling around with that damn Acer!

-
Sorry to hear that some manufacturers cut corners with computer building.
-
-
Hey guys...okay so I did some testing. I know a lot of you guys don't have Mac's...but this is what I found.
This is not a firmware problem, it is a driver problem or Serato Itch issue. I hooked up the NS7 to my windows 7 32-bit computer, and it worked fine. I used it for a hour and did not have one sound distortion.
Now, on my Mac..it still happens. Literally, a fast choppy static sound (but all the functionality still works and you can barely hear the song playing in the background). I was checking somewhere else, and someone has the exact same problem. Does anyone have any ideas? I've done the re-installation of the drivers and Itch. I just don't know what else to do...
I'll try to take a video and show you guys what exactly is going on...appreciate all your help!

I'm sorry that some computer makers cut corners too, but I can tell you that Apple doesn't. Kevin is working off of a MacBook Pro and I am working with an new iMac with an i5 processor and it was working fine for a long time. Then , all of a sudden, it started happening like a lot of other people have said. I thought I fixed the problem by updating some drivers and firmware but it still happens.
Instead of saying that it is a computer problem and that you are sorry that some manufacturers cut corners, why dosen't Numark realize that the same problem is happening to different people using different platforms, different computer manufacturers and different DJ software. The only constant here is that the controllers are all Numark. It has to be a Numark issue. Can we please put some priority on this as it is not just an isolated incedent?-
Hello, Serato is always working to refine their apps as are we with divers. As you mention however computer companies cut corners which leads to severe performance lags. Any computer will work when tweaked to make sure it matches the recommended specifications. Mac computers tend to work better as apple does not cut the corners and sets up for best multimedia performance.

Has anyone received a satisfactory solution to this yet? It is so frustrating to be mixing, especially recording, and this awful static creeps up through the speakers and takes over. It keeps happening. Just 5 minutes ago I let it play through and eventually the static dissipated but there was a delay between the controller and the software. I just can't win here. Even though there have been a few replies from employees, have we really gotten anywhere. Someone please let me know if we have found a solution to this broad based problem!!!!
-
-
I just updated Itch through the programs updating system and now it works flawlessly but im still mad at the careless help we have gotten, never gonna buy something from numark again, even that i know that they don't care about losing one customer.
-
-
And the worst part is that I'm not even using Serato, I'm using Traktor and the same thing is happening to me. The same problem comes up with different software manufacturers, different computer platforms but the one thing that is consistent with everyone is a Numark controller. That can't just be coincidence. So why is Numark not saying anything?
-
-
Sbangs , few questions ... curious as to how common this issue really is and does everyone think its an issue with windows 64bit - 32bit drivers?
-
-
the problem is back again, and this time it will hold me from performing next weekend, FUCK THIS

J - since this is the first time I have seen you here I'll ask you if you have read through all of these posts and can maybe give us all some perspective as to a solution. There are many different people out there that are using different computing platforms (Mac & PC), different DJ software (Traktor & Serato), but everyone is using Numark hardware and I don't see anyone from Numark really addressing the issue. Hopefully you can!
-
-
yes I have seen that using a different computer seems to be the only solution for some. I know this is not a fun solution so Im looking into this further to see what can be done on ourside. Unfortunately it doesn't look like one answer will solve everyones problem seeing that there is no consistent variable with the operating systems. The NS7 seems to work with similar spec'd computers with different brand names. I just wanted to post that link for some of the PC users. Ill get back with more info.

@ djlatinbeats....I agree with you. It is very frustrating because there is no precise guide on which computer will work properly with your hardware and their software. It took me to purchase another laptop with the exact same specifications as the one that I was having the problems with to get my hardware to work correctly. Now, my NS7 works flawlessly with Serato Itch and Virtual DJ. The difference....ACER versus HP.

i just purchased an acer with the i3 core and im getting this static. are you also using an acer any reply would be great help thanks.

about four months now and still the same problems huh! well i just got my ns7 about a week ago and at first i plugged it in and worked fine, messed with it for an hr and shut it down. few hours later, turned it on and heard the static sound. id reboot my pc, about 3-5 times then would work fine after that. no static noise. i have a mid 2009 macbook pro with os x lion 10.7.2. i really like the ns7 but i really hope i won't have to return it.

It's unbelievable how someone from Numark shows up, says they will look into something and then they are gone. It really makes me feel like they don't care about their customers at all. We could all just go around saying bad things about Numark but we are not. We are here because we want our products to work and are looking for a solution. I just can't understand why it seems like Numark is running away from this problem. They aren't even communicating with us. That isn't customer service, it's customer 'dis-service'! Why won't anyone from Numark just admit that there is an obvious issue here and be honest and do what they can to help us? It's not right!

maybe you guys can help me, i normally use virtual dj 7 professional with a Hercules remix controller, it works perfect...but i wanted to upgrade and bought the Numark NS7FX, i installed the hardware for the NS7 and also installed the ITCH and updated it to the 2.0 version...when i plug the RCA's on the back of my Numark, my speakers start making like this (buzz noise) that bugs the heck out of me, but when i plug my Hercules Remix, everything is fine and there's no (buzzing noise) at all so it cant be my RCA cables or my speakers. Any suggestions?
Im using a Sony VAIO Windows 7, 64 bit, 4.00GB RAM, Intel Corei3, 2.40GHz...it's aggravating because i cant seem to find the answer to this matter, NO WHERE!! -
-
Hello Don. It sounds like you are having some type of "grounding" issues. After all of the above problems my, NS7FX is a beast. I know that you stated that you do not get the buzzing on the Hercules RMX but humor yourself any way and try another RCA cable. Also try plugging in to both, "master and booth" RCA to see if there is any difference in the buzzing. Last but not least, try using the 'XLR" L and R on the unit. Hit me back!
-
hey michael thanks for the reply, well idk what it was but i plug my NS7FX on a different set of speakers and it sounds perfect now, i used the same rca cables so the only think i can think of is that maybe the speakers for some reason were messed up, its just weird how they work fine with the hercules RMX...
